Clients Safety Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic
In these uncertain times, it is important to be certain when it comes to the care for your loved one. Silver Sitters is committed to providing safe care to our clients and caregivers and has taken proactive measures during this pandemic to provide high-quality in-home care to our clients. In-Home care provides peace of mind by keeping our seniors safe in their own homes and promoting the recommended social distancing.
Aging in place is now more critical than ever to provide a safe environment for our clients. According to an article published by FREOPP.org, Nursing Homes and Assisted Livings account for approximately 42% of COVID-19 deaths and rising. This number could be even significantly higher as some hospitalized COVID-19 deaths are not included in the Nursing Home or Assisting Living death by COVID statistics.
Many nursing homes and assisted livings are unable to accept new admissions due to COVID-19 and risk of exposure to their large population of patients.
These facilities are often not equipped with proper staffing and supplies needed to care for a large population during an outbreak of this magnitude. Staffing ratios which are normally high have increased due to the COVID-19 and staffing shortages. In addition, the difficulty arises with the ability to properly use social distancing recommendations often sequestering patients to remain in their rooms.
Silver Sitters is continuously monitoring the recommendations from the CDD, WHO, and state and local departments of health.
Silver Sitters commitment to continuity of care, limits the number of caregivers who will interact with our clients. This not only provides improved satisfaction but reduces the risk of exposure to our beloved seniors who are most vulnerable to this disease.
